This aircraft will return to the US bringing Premier Nikita Khrushchev to address the United Nations and tour the US..... The shoe-banging, I want to go to Disneyland trip!
The Tu-114 Rossiya, largest and heaviest commercial airliner in the world when it appeared in 1957, the Tu-114 was completed to coincide with the 40th Anniversary of the Russian Revolution. It was the civil counterpart to the Tu-95 Bear bomber. The standard version accommodated 120-220 passengers, while at least one Tu-114D was built with a slimmer fuselage to carry a small number of passengers, mail and urgent freight over very long distances. Power was provided by four 11,033 kW (14,795 chp) Kuznetsov NK-12MV turboprop engines. Maximum cruising speed was 910 km/h (565 mph).
