Artist's Description

File# 0642.... A Horn & Hardart Automat unit, displayed at the Empire State Museum in Albany NY USA [2003.03.02] Horn & Hardart started in 1902 in Philadelphia... they opened their first location in New York City on July 2, 1912. By the 1940's there were 'Automats' all over the city. The Automat was, perhaps, the first fast food restaurant,,,, 'Dining on a Dime' with good coffee at a nickel a cup. The last Horn & Hardart at 200 E.42nd Street, the Daily News Building, closed in 1991.

About John Schneider

John Schneider

I have found that there are only three stages in a mans life..... Baggy butt toddler, firm butt junior thru to the ever popular 50's ( trust me the sports car doesn't firm the butt, just adds to debt) and lastly... Baggy butt senior to match baggy butt grandson. Life in a nutshell, please enjoy the photographs. Please do not PIN images to any website.
